Terms of Service

Last updated: 23 April 2026

By creating an account or using GCSE SatNav, you agree to these terms. If you are under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian is aware you are using this service.

1. What GCSE SatNav is

GCSE SatNav is an online educational platform that helps students navigate their GCSE curriculum through visual subject maps, AI-guided learning, exam practice, and adaptive study planning.

The platform is designed to supplement — not replace — school teaching, textbooks, and past paper practice. It does not provide tutoring, pastoral care, or any service beyond the features described on this website.

2. Who can use this service

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

For users under 16, we strongly encourage parental awareness and provide a dedicated parent account feature for this purpose.

This service is intended for use in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Exam board content is aligned to the UK GCSE examination system.

3. Your account

You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your password secure and not sharing it with others
  • All activity that takes place on your account
  • Ensuring the information you provide on registration is accurate
  • Notifying us immediately at support@gcsesatnav.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account

You may not create accounts on behalf of other people without their knowledge and consent. You may not use another person's account.

4. Free and premium plans

Free plan — always available

  • Full visual navigation of the GCSE curriculum (all subjects, topics, and subtopics)
  • Static learning content for all curriculum areas
  • 2 lifetime AI practice attempts (to try the feature before upgrading)

Premium plan — £14.99/month or £143.99/year (£12/month effective, save 20%)

  • Unlimited AI-guided practice and exam simulation
  • AI coaching in the concept explorer (Socratic, specification-grounded)
  • Handwritten answer marking via photo upload
  • Full adaptive study planner
  • Parent mode with progress monitoring and focus assignments
  • Progress tracking persisted across all sessions

We may modify the features included in each plan. Where we reduce features in the plan you are paying for, we will give you at least 30 days notice.

5. Payment and cancellation

  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
  • You may cancel at any time. Your premium access continues until the end of your current paid billing period. You will not be charged again after cancellation.
  • 14-day right to cancel: Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, consumers ordinarily have a 14-day right to cancel digital subscriptions for a refund. GCSE SatNav is a digital service consumed immediately. By signing up and accessing any premium feature (AI coaching, unlimited practice marking, the adaptive planner, the parent dashboard), you expressly consent to performance of the contract beginning immediately and acknowledge that this causes you to lose your 14-day refund right under Regulation 36(2) at the moment you first use the service. If you subscribe and do not use any premium feature within 14 days, you may request a refund at support@gcsesatnav.com within that window. You retain the right to cancel future renewals at any time as described above.
  • We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by UK consumer law (including the 14-day cooling-off right above where applicable).
  • If we increase prices, we will give you at least 30 days notice by email. You may cancel before the new price takes effect.

To cancel, manage your subscription from your account settings or contact support@gcsesatnav.com.

6. AI tutoring features

Our AI coach is designed to guide your thinking — it asks questions and helps you structure your understanding based on official GCSE specifications. It does not write answers for you, and will not do so even if asked.

The AI uses official exam board specifications as its source material. While we take care to ensure accuracy, AI systems can make errors. You should always:

  • Cross-reference guidance with your teacher and textbooks
  • Use official past papers and mark schemes alongside this platform
  • Not rely solely on AI guidance for any answer in a formal assessment

We are not responsible for any inaccuracy in AI-generated guidance, and make no warranty that AI responses are error-free.

7. Academic integrity

GCSE SatNav is a study tool, not an answer generator. Any content produced by the AI coach is for learning purposes only. You must not submit AI-generated content as your own work in any school assignment, controlled assessment, or formal examination.

Doing so may constitute academic misconduct under your school's and examination board's rules. We are not responsible for any consequences arising from misuse of our platform.

8. Past paper content

Some exam practice features include real past paper questions from official UK examination boards. These are reproduced for private, non-commercial educational study purposes only, and are accessible to authenticated premium users only.

All past paper content remains the intellectual property of the respective examination boards (AQA, Pearson Edexcel, Eduqas / WJEC). You may not reproduce, distribute, or publish this content.

9. Your content

You retain ownership of any answers or notes you submit through the platform. By submitting content, you grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide you with feedback through the AI marking feature.

We do not use your answers or notes to train AI models. Practice attempt scores are retained to show you your progress history; written answers are not stored after the marking session ends.

10. Intellectual property

The GCSE SatNav platform — including its design, code, curriculum structure, navigation system, and study planning tools — is our intellectual property.

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of the platform or its content
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or decompile the platform
  • Use the platform or its content to build a competing product or service
  • Scrape or systematically extract data from the platform

11. Acceptable use

You must not use GCSE SatNav to:

  • Attempt to access another user's account or any part of our systems you are not authorised to access
  • Distribute, resell, or share access to premium features with others
  • Upload or transmit harmful, offensive, or unlawful content
  • Interfere with the performance or availability of the service
  • Use automated tools to access or interact with the platform in ways not intended for normal use

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, without notice where the breach is serious.

12. Service availability

We aim to keep GCSE SatNav available at all times and will give advance notice of planned maintenance where possible. However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service and are not liable for losses arising from unavailability beyond our reasonable control.

13. Limitation of liability

GCSE SatNav is an educational study tool. We do not guarantee any specific academic outcomes, grades, or examination results.

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law:

  • The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind
  • We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses
  • Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in that period

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be lawfully excluded under UK law.

If you are a consumer, you may also have statutory rights under UK consumer protection law that are not affected by these terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or your use of GCSE SatNav will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Before raising a formal dispute, please contact us at support@gcsesatnav.com. We will do our best to resolve any issue directly and promptly.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect.

If you continue to use GCSE SatNav after the effective date of any changes, you are deemed to have accepted the updated terms. If you do not agree, you may cancel your account before the changes take effect.
